Sorry I didn't get back to anyone personally but got more bad news about my brother last night . I roast corn in the husk on the grill or in a campfire too , I forgot to mention that one . I soak in sugar water also . I guess I've been overcooking in boiling water but it's still been good . I also forgot about that corn creamer device . I think my grandma used to have one but I just remember the spoon and big mess . I don't grow my own corn so fresh doesn't happen very often . We get it from the roadside venders . We're going to freeze some now that I know how it's done . I also like to eat it uncooked but warm with butter and a lot of salt is better . Have a great day everyone ! ...Randy

What kinda corn are ya ll growing that you have to soak in sugar water. The stuff we have does not even need butter, or cooking.

C'mon Dave !! It's Feed Corn!!! in reply to Dave from MN, 08-09-2006 19:10:33
Dave - I just couldn't resist. It was WIDE OPEN :)
Bet it tough chewing also.

Randy - Well wishes for your brother and enjoy nature's bounty. I can honestly say I can buy corn cheaper than I can grow it. Very hard to compete with 6 ears / dollar etc.

I grow it just to say I can and for me it is a way to put my tractors back to work.
