Call your Department of Transportation and find out what licsences, certificates,DOT Numbers etc. a person needs to have to haul for hire.Call up your scammer and tell him you need these before you can Western Union any money. If he has them, check them out with DOT. We know he won't,so call back the DOT and give them all the info you have about this place.Just maybe they will do a sting and nail the *#$tard. I'm sure he's made himself pretty invisabe though.

It is my understanding that if you wire money to someone via Western Union, you have no recourse if they don't deliver. You might as well send cash. At least if you send them a postal money order, you can have them charged with mail fraud.

I would be very suspicious of any company these days that does not accept credit cards.

I just heard of a scam with 'moving companies' where someone will give you a low-ball estimate and then demand more money once they arrive at the destination. If you won't pay, they leave and unload you stuff at a storage facility.

Stick with a reputable company.
Bill

It's a quote I asked for but when he said Western Union I had to say NO, I asked if he had any other options and he said sorry, no.
I'm out,
Brian

Is this a quote you asked for? But no, I'd be real suspicious of anything that asked for payment by Western Union. You did the right thing.

If you're shipping a car in your name to another location, you were probaly correct in saying no. Go to a reputable agent, such as a moving company and get a bid. That is their buisness. There are also a lot of car transporters that make that their business. Too many quick buck artists on the internet. If you've been paid for the car, let the new owner handle it.
