break the yards down into feet which would be 780 x 825 and multiply which =643500 sq feet and there"s 43,560 sq. feet in an acre and divide that and the answer is 14.566 acres

I agree.. looks to be 'about' 14.8 ac.

You can also look up the property parcel id by ownername at your county's prop apr. website, and look at surveyed / platted area.. etc.

Well, an acre is 160 sq. rods

There's 5.5 yards in a rod.

260 / 5.5 = 47.27 rods

275 / 5.5 = 50 rods

50 * 47.27 = 2,363.5 sq. rods

2,363.5 / 160 = 14.77 acres.

:D

(Ok...so I took a 5 mile long walk this morning, followed by doing tree trimming with a pruning pole in 90 degree, muggy weather...and now I really don't feel like doing office work!)

Certainly no offense meant, but it would never have occurred to me to convert everythng to rods (and presumably, chains) to figure this out. I interpret real estate descriptions for a living, and whenever I see rods and chains, I silently whisper a curse upon the perpetrator. Must be something in the air in Connecticut to cause you to do this. . .

There's 43,560 square feet in an acre.

780' X 825' = 643,500 square feet / 43,560 = 14.8 acres.

1 acre equals 43,560 square feet or 4,840 square yards. You have about 14.77 acres.

Bob and Deere have it right on the money. No matter how you measure it, if the square footage comes up to 43560, that's an acre. The only way my peabrain could remember that was back in the day when the 560's came out, I remembered 43 of them would make an acre. Harley

Harley, you have a way with words that leaves the rest of us dumbfounded. This time you demonstrated your prowess with numbers. What do you do for an encore?
