Evening, got a 3020 with a serious steering issue, at high rpm the steering acts irradically, really dangerous when in higher gears, wondering if anyone here has an idea of this problem and what they did to fix it. The local JD dealer"s repair guy didnt have a clue what he was talking about, told me some crap about steering linkage, there isnt any on this, all hydralic i told him, and i got told i was wrong.... Went home and found out I was right, all hydro..... Well, ANY ideas?

Come to find out, According to the records, that hydro filter has never been changed, so i guess im gonna try that one first. Steering and the brakes are the first things to act up when you have hydro issues, i knew that already, but on everything else we have, its always been problem specific.... Tryin the filter first.

Does it simply wander or does it seem like it is steering on its own? Without driving it its hard to say, it could be either the steering valve or the steering motor.Think I would try to find an old mechanic that cut his teeth on the 20 series tractors and start with having him rebuild the steering valve.

No it jerks back and forth, i was told by someone who has a 4020 that it probably is the steering valve, Sounds like a good idea on the mechanic. Thanks
