I came home this morning as I was walking up the steps I seen this envelope sticking out of the storm door handle.
It was a ticket stateing they fill my propane tank. Back in March I stopped the driver from filling the tank before because I was going to switch companies. My reasons for switching was I found another company cheaper. I did talk with Ferrellgas back in March and told them them the hole nine yards of what I was doing.
The tank at the time had 40% left in it. And ferrellgas said it will cost me X$$ to pump it out.
This other company told me to use what left in it and when it gets down to 10% or less they will move the tank and put there"s in.
Well that wasn"t going to happen till fall time comes.
I did call Ferrellgas today and wasn"t getting any explanation why they desided to fill it up.
Said they didn"t hear from me and I told them right up front what I was doing. She said they have no record of this transaction on this. But she did say she had on file that I stopped the driver the first time from filling it.

The other gas company I signed a contact with them and tomorrow I will need to talk with them on this. The billing statement they left had 1.949 per gallon. I got a contract paper in the mail earlyer this spring and it said my contract was for 1.779.
This other company qouted me 1.499.

Everyone been having problems with this company this past year. They seem to bill ya for any least thing they can think of! Where they never did before. They been closing alot of there offices here in Michigan.
I not sure what to do on this mess at the moment but in the morning I"m sure I will burn a few phone lines talking this over with them. If thats possible? (Which I dought) May be a very cold winter for me this year?

In the future I"m considering on owning my own tank!....
Sorry for such a long Message! Take Care, Mike
P.S. Guess I"d better put more fertilizer on the money tree out back Ha Ha.

Doing the math, if you have a 500 gal tank, you are talking about $90 from highest price to lowest --assuming they added 200 gal to fill it to the 80% (max.) level. I would consider putting my padlock on the dome so they wouldn't fill it again, run it out and get set up with another dealer. Get me once, shame on you, get me twice, shame on me. And for the next dealer, I would ceertainly read the fine print in their contract before I signed up.....

Just my own opinion

They used to pull the same thing with me. Fill it up at their timing. Middle of summer. They told me they wanted to fill every one while it was cheap( I am guesing for them) cause it wasnt for me. I believe unless you are on a "keep full" program they arent supposed to come fill unless you call. At least thats what they say when you run out in february when it's -50. Nice of em to keep ya full in July though, huh. Big companies suck- IMHO

Here's what I'd do.....call Ferrell Gas and tell them you expect them to come within 24 hours from the time of your call, to pump your tank....at no charge....and give you full credit for the gallons they pumped. Tell them if they choose not to participate, within 36 hours, you are going to file complaints to the following: the Attorney General, Better Business Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission, and the Department of Justice. I think they will take notice!

Ferrell gas *ucks big time. I got a bill in the mail about 6 weeks ago saying, "pay this $25 fee for bla bla bla" Plus they want me to buy propane too. Well when my tank runs down to 10% or so I will change companies.

Ferrellgas got me for 20 cents a gal even after I complained about the price. Haz mat fee too? Think I will change suppliers as soon as possible but I have a two years supply now. Been reading on here about Ferrellgas but haven't heard much locally in central IL

Mike

Call your new company and have them pump your gas into their tank and leave whatever gallons Ferrel recently put in. Then call Ferrel and tell them to pickup their tank. We do this all the time and the light blue tanks are getting less and less in our area. Right now we are $1.47 cash off the truck in SWMN with no haz delivery fee.

Take Care
Merle

Had a similar problem here a couple of years ago. I OWN THE TANK. Never contracted with the Company "A" to put 40% into the tank. We did contract Company "B" to fill the tank. We came home and found a bill in the mailbox from Company "A" for filling the tank and a message on the answering machine from Company "B" who MET Company "A"'s truck in our driveway. "A" wanted to charge me for the LP or charge me to remove it. I told him I'd remove it myself (open the valve) and there would be no record of me signing a contract. Finally convinced him to take it out, but he waited 2 months and wanted to charge me for usage. Told him to go to a nice warm place. He finally came out to get what was left (I stopped the truck myself at 10%, otherwise he would have pumped it dry). He sent me a bill which I gave to the Attorney and haven't heard from him since. The attorney never even billed me.
