Found this old newspaper clipping about Allis
Chalmers going bankrupt. It's dated July 2,1988.

no fiat was added earlier to the Construction-industrial line... not in the 88 time frame

this was when Duetz came over to SAVE them... (and then lose their shirts)

It says that Dennis Thisted a spokesman for
Allis Chalmers, said the reorganized company would emerge from chapter 11 with it's headquarters in West
Allis,Wis.and two wholly owned subsidiaries
Huston Dynamic Service Inc. and Kilngas R&ND Inc.
Huston Dynamic had 33 employes and Kilngas had 4.

One of my dispatchers lives there. Says every year have a big parade of orange. Said would send my photos of the event, but hasn't yet. Says the file's pretty huge to download from his computer.
