I have a pond that doesnt stay full,so it has a real steep bank on it. Its a real pain to keep it clean with a weed wacker.I was told to get a sickle mower.I dont know much about them, but I had no idea that you can turn them down to mow at an angle. Is this true?I see some pretty cheap ones on here.Any pointers on what I would be looking for to do this type of job?
Thanks Stan

Another idea depending on the size of the pond is to look for a Jari walk behind. Exersize and safer on a steep slope.

One of the best one's I have ever used was a Ferguson Dyna-balance. It would mow straight up and almost straight down. You can only use it on a Ferguson T020, T030, or Ford 8n. Pain to mount on the tractor but did a beautiful job mowing.

Using a belt mower is the best. The big thing is you said steep. be very careful when on steep banks with your tractor. Make sure wheels are spread out. Stay safe

You don't want one with a pitman to mow at step angles, you need a balanced head belt driven one.
