Hi Gang;
Harvest in full swing this week, its been up to 95F in this area this afternoon. Some of the combines are having to take a break every few hours to cool down !!!
Claas Dominator 180 with 16 foot header cutting winter sown barley.
The guy with the JD combines cutting rape had to stop today - too dry !!! Coming off the combine at 7% moisture - the oildseed buyers wont take it below 9% moisture. They are back at it now tonight now the temperature has dropped a few degrees.
Cheers David

The combines designed in Europe need to be. It is not unusual these days for crops of wheat to do 4 tons an acre. Notice that we measure yields in weight per acre not volume.

Good picture David. What model JD was that? Looked like a 9760 STS, but I couldn't zoom in enough in Microsoft Photo Editor. Got too blurry. JohnDeereGreen

David,
The winter barley is been cut here too in Yorkshire, and the wheat won't be far behind! I was looking at some wheat today, I rubbed a couple of heads out but it looked a bit pinched. It is so hot and dry this year, another 76?
