Good thing I didn't have 40 more acres of oats to do or I might have strangled myself.

On the way home from elevator with empty truck this morning,it starts missing and I barely made it home.

After first hopper of oats I was smellin antifreeze.

Got out and water pump on combine was leakin like a seive.

Went got one put it on.

Two more hoppers and was done about 2:00.

Raked what was cut on Saturday and started baling straw.

First bale endgate opened before I got it tied,so had to unroll that one and bale it again.

Naturally I plugged the baler trying to rebale.

The twine cut arm spring broke so the tie arm was catching the cut arm and shearing the bolt.

Did it three times before I figured out what was causing it.

So it took all day to combine 8 acres and make 6 big round bales of straw.

And you know what its still hot out there.

I quit for the day.

Gary

Could be worse!, you could be scubbing toilets at a gas station or campground. When i have a day like that i like to stop everything and hop into the truck and ride into the city(Detroit). I get about 10 miles away and lock the truck doors. And i watch the bums and wine o's. And drive back to country thinking I dont really have it that bad!

Gary, I thought I was the only one who had days like that. Finally got all the hay baled for this year and that old 845 NH chainer I got has a mind of it's own too. About once a day, if I just hit the lever and don't hold it down, the tailgate won't latch and the bale only gets so big and I look back and I got a windrow behind me and half a bale in the chamber. What a mess. And this year with the ungodly amount of chiggers in the grass, it's really a ball digging that stuff out for rebaling. Oh well, it's worth a lot to say you're in business. Harley
