Hi Guys;
Weve had temperatures in the 80's over the past few days and the winter sown barley is ready. Its all Hell let loose with combines out and farm tractors with 14 ton trailers thrashing down the narrow country lanes! Our fuel prices have risen to an all time high this week $7.10 per US gallon is the average for unleaded gasoline!
Small gas stations are even higher, the big WallMart type stores are a few cents less.
Must keep on smiling through all the s++t that the goverment keeps throwing at us>
Cheers David

Ya know guys during WW2 we lived on a farm about 3 miles out of town.....we always had pleasure horses around, so dad bought a fancy black buggy with red wheels and white rubber tires....we had a black horse (trotter or paser), whitch ever is faster, I dont remember ...Tony was his name...

That is how we went to town.....paid our visits and run short errands....

Boy could Tony take that buggy a sailing....maybe that is what its comming too..... ..Don

I don't know how you people (in England and our neighbors in the USA) feel about it, but when ever the POWERS TO BE use TAXES to control ANYTHING, it seems that after a while they can't exist with out it (they found ways to spend it), and just keep on increasing the tax on it until we SQUEEL, then they move on to license fees, New license fees, service charges, New service charges and on and on. Until we forget the TAX increase and start over.

I just noticed on the news they are going to double the fine for speeding through a road construction site to the tune of $280. CDN$ what they didn't say is, there is a 25% tax on top of that for victims of crime.
I have no problem with the fine, safety is #1 but why can't they make the construction co. cover the sign when no one is working and hasn't been for two - three weeks, then you or me will go at the limit + - and get a $350. fine. with sur tax.

Hi;
White diesel for cars & trucks is a little higher per US gallon.
Red dyed farm diesel for tractors & combines etc is close to $2.75 US gallon and rising most days.

We just "LOVE" paying over 85% tax on our fuel!!!

Cheers David

What price is diesel? I assume it's taxed even for farm tractor use over there.

And they condemn the farmer for selling off his frontage for housing development!! Nobody is giving him a pension and what's a 401K or company paid Blue Cross??? NOW...local and state zoning is passing ordinances restricting or prohibiting residential building on farm land unless you are one of the town "RICH BOYS" and build a complete subdivision and then it's OK !! Ever ask yourself "WHY DOES THE USA IMPORT FOOD PRODUCTS" ?? Maybe our farmers should start raising opium poppies and marjuana and then we could "give away" our regular crops like the other countries do! When this country is broke we will all slaves to the highest bidder .
