Giving away fescue! Guy comes and cut, bails it, and takes it home. When I was cutting it, nobody wanted it.Not much use for fescue.

Last week here in southeast Louisiana I paid $7.95 a bale for small square bales of costal bermuda trucked in from Arkansas. We have had a very dry winter and spring and not much hay being harvested locally. A little rain lately so things may ease up but I suspect it will stay high.

I am getting 4 bucks a bale delivered,no unloading. That is first cutting tim/redclover.Second cutting alfalfa and second cutting redclover/timothy is in barn and will be holding til fall.try to get 5 a bale. This is good stuff.First time with the clover and really impressed with it.The second cutting clover is chocolate green and softer than a pillow.I have just feild grass(tim, orch, clover, fescue, lesp, weeds) that I would take 2 bucks for,but it is hard to move this time of year and takes up valuable space, knew I should of rolled it.

Northern MN, todays paper has small square grass at 2.00 and 2.25, no rain so it must be tarped or shedded. Alfalfa mix is 3.25 and up. One guy is advertising Timothy, you pick up behind baler, price negogible. No pricing on large bales.

Had a old client calll me from Oklahoma looking for hay. Trying to figure out a way to get some trucked down there. She says small squares are going for $7 a bale. Here in Michigan I am getting $2.75 a small square for grass hay out of the field. I am getting $22 a 4x4 round bale out of the field and $25 - $30 delivered. I am getting $3.75 a square bale delivered for grass and $4.00 for alfalfa.

I am in Livingston County so it sounds like I am in the ball park -- did you get that out of the field or delivered?

Hayfield across the road from me was cut last month.
This was a first cutting.
4x4 round bales went for $18 each.
A neighbor bought 400 bales of it and got it a bit cheaper.

If we don't get some good rain soon then by the end
of summer the hay will be worth more than the cows.
