HA! We got a 98 extended cab Dodge, with a V-10, and it will run circles around all the diesels pulling, just don't expect any gas milage doing it. About 9.5. Empty, and running 65 mph on the hiway, we get 15.5 - 16 mpg. It has a 3.73 rear end. With 500 ft lbs of torque, and 300 hp, you don't need a 4.10.

I have a 98 (12 valve) Cummins 4x4 5 spd. I can get 18 - 19 mpg on the highway running fast with A/C on. Run about 16 mpg when towing about 8000 lbs.

Have a 94 2wd, not sure what ratio. Lucky to get 15mpg. Nice part is gets about the same pulling a trailer with a 6500 lb tractor on board and the overdrive off.

5.9 diesel or 5.9 gas? Big difference.

Depends on what gears. I have the 3.70 (I think) and I get 19 highway. If it has 4.10's stay away, you will have a better tow rig with the taller gears behind this motor.

I have a 2000 with the same and average 12-14mpg. Open highway lucky to get 15mpg. This is unloaded not towing anything.
