Steel tubing or rubber hoses for loader?

I was looking at some loaders mounted on a tractor I have and saw some had metal tubing opposed to rubeer. I know that metal will last longer and not bust, but is it worth it. I'm planning to sell the tractor so don't really care about 5 years from now when it needs to be replaced. Just curious on what y'all think. Paul

I had some steel lines made up. Guy was a friend of mine, did it for cheap. 2X the cost of hoses. I went with the tube because I use the loader pretty rough sometimes.

That metal tubing on some loaders is just black iron pipe, black not galvanized, so it could be welded to frame

Steel is more elegant & _way_ more spendy.

Hose will get the job done.

Steel can take more damage if hit. It is neater and out of the way. If you only need to fix one or two then fix them. There is nothing like a loader with floppy hoses all over the place! Jeffcat

Steel tubing was used when the loader was built because it was cheaper to make and made a nicer apearance. Now it may be easier to replace it with hose.
