Me again,

One of my least favorite jobs. Tomorrow, I get to crawl up inside this ol' heifer to tighten up some walker blocks and clean the walkers, seives and grain pan.

This is a job a feller really doesn't wanna do on a hot summer day. Makes ya kinda feel like a big weenie in an oversized cooker! :>)

Yep, that's a fun job right there. Enny idea when you'll be able to start harvesting? How wide of platform will that be able to handle?

It will probably be another couple of weeks anyway. There's not a lot out there on account of the dry weather; maybe a couple of truckloads.

I have both an 18' direct cut and also a 13' header with a pickup attachment. Hope the weeds stay back so that I can just straight cut it with the combine.

Kinda after the straw more than the oats anyway.

I use carpet from dumpsters to crawl inside with, a movie theater was being remodeled and I raided the dumpster of new scraps of carpet, has foam on the back, should make that job very enjoyable, if you have a helper to wimper to, tell him or her how cramped it is and have them fetch tools that you really don't need to keep them from losing interest in the job.

You can doit!!
Try diggin' Barley beards outa those walker troughs on a hot day then you will appreciate a nice clean tune up job. Those wooden walker bearing can run firly loose anyhow. Pickup a few of those wooden chain tightener blocks. I think that machine only uses three different sizes of Fafnir flangette bearing front to rear. Happy Combining.

Looks like the inside of our masseys, looking backward from the grain tank through the access port on the top of the rear section.

Except a lot more clean and shiny!

I noticed today that the weight rod is missing out of the bottom of that curtain.

Temped to just leave it out, but with my little light crop, all the oats would probably just blow right on out the back. :>)

'Spose I'd better rig another one out of something 'er another.

And, if you were around here, you'd check for raccoons, and their droppings before crawling in there'

Combines sitting idle seem to be about their favorite "R+R" place.
