What my question is what would it take to put a 300 rearend behind a super h motor? The super h is a early 53 model stage 1. My neighbor has a 300 that i could buy at a reasonale price think the ta is ok it has some oil leaks. My super h needs some tranny work also. I have veiwed the archives it seems it wouldn,t be a big job. Another question i have is would i need to change timing gears or would this motor have the heavier gears? It doesn,t have live hydralics. I would like to put the live pump on the h motor. The motor in the 300 is in real bad shape needs complete overhaul. My thinking is that i could have a more modern tractor at not to much cost. Thanks again for your help Delbert.

Hi Delbert,

Your tractor already has the heaiver timing gears. That sounds like a really fun project.

Keep us updated as you go, but remember, ya gotta show us pictures! :>)

Putting a 300 rear end behind a super H motor is exactly how all of those super H TA's were created. About the only thing you will need to do is drill some holes in the trans. cover for the super H steering post.

Let's see, yep, it's been about a month. About once a month, the illusive SHTADWFCS shows it's head and everybody gets a lift in life. That's a Super H Diesel, with a Torque Amplifier, Wide front, Cantaloup Special. They are kinda hard to find, but I have seen pictures of one without the diesel and a narrow front end out in Nebraska out around Wellfleet. Harley
