I'm looking into buying a 1992 Deutz-Allis riding mower with a 16 hp. B&S Vanguard engine. How hard would it be to get parts for this mower if I decide to get it ? It's in great shape, with 204 hours on it. I like it a lot, but am a bit concerned about the availability of parts. I live in Brighton Michigan, just a bit outside of Ann Arbor. Thanks for any help !!

Thats the best Simplicity model built at the time. We ran an green one once, and currently have a orange one. Nothing wrong with them as long as you take care of them. In other words, buy it.

Boy o Boy Agco is doing a 180! They recently purchased Massey Ferguson, and are currently starting a new line of wheel tractors called Challenger ,Which is commonly known by the track driven Cats. This new line includes compacts as well as mowers. We were recently inquiring about dealerships, for the Sunflower line of equipment. And the rep filled me in that No new dealerships for 1 year untill they finish the deal.

That tractor is built by Simplicity. Parts will be available from any Simplicity dealer as well as from Agco dealers.

I live in Brighton also and have Agco equipment and have never had problems getting parts. There is an Agco dealer in Ann Arbor - Diuble Equipment Company. I deal with Hofferberts in Bannister for parts and service. Diuble would probably be ok for parts but he is a real crook for service. Card Brothers in Chessaning also is an Agco dealer.
