I went to the shed to egt the 285, walked around the back, and wouldn't you know it..... I saw a nail sticking out about 1/2" from the rear tire right at eye level... I called my dad to let him know and take care of it.

$210 later for the service call, a new tube, 10 gallons of fluid (yeah, they're loaded) and the labor....

What really stinks is that this is the same tractor I ruptured a dual wheel on earlier this year. So far over $300 in rear tire repair on this tractor and we don't even have a new tire to show. We might have considered, but our 1855 needs new tires worse, and it's got bigger 18.4x38's vs. the 34's on the 285...

Just another day getting poorer on the farm....

I'd rather not wrestkle them myself, espescially if they're loaded with fluid. We just weren't expecting $210 because we just had a dual the same size swapped out with a new tube for about 1/2 that, but we brought it in to them, instead of them coming to us for that one.....

Sloroll,

Just out of curosity, what year is that beast? Must be from the 20's? A runner? Don't often see that name anymore.

504 in the back 1963. Great tractor.

1925 Holt 2 Ton on the trailer. Runs great needs a good gas tank. Used as a barge anchor tractor. Undercarraige near new like as is drawbar. Been at the bottom of a gravel pit at one time. Brought up by divers and a dragline. At that time completely rebuilt.

I have, just a few weeks ago the ground started rumblin then over the hill came the neighbor farmer in his Cat Challenger. Those big ole rubber cleats cause one heck of a vibration when cruising near 20 mph.
