I put an auction on ebay motors to sell a car. I put a buy-it-now price. Someone did the buy-it-now and then called and asked how to make monthly payments and when will the car be shipped even though the post stated it was to be picked up. My question is can I get it re-listed without additional charges. I'm not sure what the first listing will cost but the insertion fee alone was $40. thanks for any help

Kent"s advise is good. Just follow the unpaid item instructions.

Looks like the buyer just misunderstood the "get low monthly payments" link. It is just a fairly standard credit application via Paypal that has to be completed BEFORE the purchase. Also the shipping quote is a buyer responsibility.

I'll give her five days for payment as I stated in the ad and then contact ebay but i'm not expecting payment since she han't return calls and emails. I wish ebay would leave the ad on for the full time unless payment is made.

I deal on Ebay quite a bit. If you can give us a link to the auction (or item number) I can review it and maybe provide some guidance. But without seeing what the 'buyer' saw, I'm only guessing.

looked at the auction,it does have the "get low monthly payment link",but this looks like its through ebay and up to the buyer to arrange it.you also have the "get a shipping quote link " but i would think this also is up to the buyer.i myself have sold things on ebay and fortunatly for me they have never sold for enough to qualify for the payment option.i have tried to delete that option when listing but havent found a way to delete it.

This is my first try on ebay motors. I did not give those options, they were put on by ebay. My notice was that buyer pays shipping and payment was due in five days. I would think a buyer would ask before hitting the buy it now button. The proposed buyer will not return my calls or emails.

I signed up with onlineauction.com granted they dont have the sales or the traffic that ebay does BUT the more people sign up and list things the more traffic and the more sales there will be . only way to make competion for the jerks at ebay is to use someone else .mike

Bob is correct. The trick they play is time. My guess is stated somewhere in an seemingly obscure email was very smal print that said you needed to follow up. I caught on litterly by mistake. My scroll button got pushed and when I moved the mouse down it scrolled the email down past what appeared to be the end and stated I had such and such time to follow up. If it been more than 30 days your likely out of luck. As for the monthly payment, unless "you" stated it, I'd tell them to contact whom ever offered it and let them know when full payment is due and when payment has been received where they can pick it up. Otherwise they broke the deal.

Another little trick they do is force you to accept PayPal. When I sold the tractor and boat I could not remove the PayPal option. I hunted and called to no end. Finally gave up and stated in big bold words, "Any attempt to pay for the item with PayPal would void the auction and any funds sent to PatPal would be refuned no less than 30 days minus any and all fees to do so". Trust me you don't have to look very hard to find this is a violation of eBay policy.

I had to open a second eBAy account to get around that crap.

I'm not real sure just how the monthly payment thing works, but my understanding is that the payments are to be made to pay pal, and pay pal will pay the seller the full amount. You might be able to get some answers by going to eBay's seller central. I have a Ford pick-up truck listed right now, It is my first attempt at selling a complete vehicle. I hope it is not a learning experience.

Isn't is SAD ebay has become such a tangled mess of screen after screen of BS you have to "drill" down through to find the answer to a simple question, or actually contact a human.

They have become TOO BIG to have a human respond, plus all they care about is the MONEY, and it's almost impossible to get any help.

I had two "deadbeat bidders", no big deal, small amounts, and filed "non-paying bidders" against them.

When I would go the the "dispute console", it would show no action was needed by me, and that ebay was giving the "buyers" time to respond, before giving me credit for my listing fees.

Suddenly, the "dispute console" showed the dispute "closed" due to the passage of a certain amount of time, with no credit of the listing fees.

Nowhere did I see what further action I should have taken before their time limit was up, nor did I find a way to contact a human about the problem.

The "buyers" walked away "Scott Free", but I was stuck with the listing fees, which admittedly weren't much, but it's the principle of the thing.

The buyers wouldn't even respond to ebay, yet the "dispute" was closed!

I hope a new competitor comes along someday, and puts them in their place!

Bob;

I had the same problem the first time I had to file on an NPB to get my listing fees back. I waited the 45 days with no responce from the bidder and then lost my listing fees.--- If no action is taken on the part of the Non Paying Bidder after the first 7 days have passed, you can go back in and close the case your self. When doing so, you check a box that states that you no longer wish to deal with the bidder because they have failed to respond. E-bay will then refund your fees.

John

There are at least two competitors, but the last time I checked, niether of the two had any listings in the categories I am interested in. I did list a few items on one of those sites, but I don't think anyone ever saw them.
