Kinda limpy and gimpy around here this afternoon, but I got this ol' tractor to within 4 bolster bolts and that front end should fall right down outta there.

Looked like it was gonna rain, so I quit fer today.

Okay,

Just let me know when and I'll have it all gathered up and in and nice pile fer ya. :>)

I'm only 125 miles off the Interstate, but the other direction from where you'll exit to drop down into Denver.

Allan; Can we all really believe that "the supports were removed for picture clarity only" statement? Surely you will have more support under there? Dont want any more tragedy to be-fall you. Looks like she will soon pass muster as a "original" soon. Be safe, Bob

Hi Bob,

No, she'll set all alone on that little barrel jack until I roll the other front under. Gotta have wide open space out front to allow room to maneuver the two front ends in and out, back and forth.

The hardest part is aligning those four front bolster bolts.

Well, we all take some chances in life, but you take the safest route you can there. Did you get that rain? IF you have any extra send it to my little patch. All around me 1 to 2 inchs, I did not even get 2/10. Really dry and hard on the new seeding. Time for another rain dance. Bob

GOt a couple of nice little rains over the weekend. If it keeps this up, I might even get a second cutting of hay.

Almost unheard of out here. :>)

It's not going anywhere. I'll get ya a picture later on this morning when it's "hanging" in mid-air.

Sure hope you guys don't think I'm so dumb that I'd actually be under that thing, do ya? :>)

Nope...not dumb...but I think you are like me...kinda get in a rush once in awhile. I trust those little bottle jacks about as far as I can throw them.
Just want you to be safe is all....we need ya too much on here.

Thanks Buddy,

Not to worry. I've done this little operation quite a number of times before.

When I was a young man, we had to swap 'em out 5 or 6 times every summer depending on the task at hand.

The key to it is ya just simply gotta "stay away" and "stay back" from that darned heavy tractor while it is up in the air.

I know...I gotta do the same thing to a green one when I get back from Indiana...but I use a chain hoist, jack stands, and a few timbers. More work...but then I don't move as fast as I once did.
Be safe.....

Had a single front on an H come loose and "out" on me one time going down the road.

You cannot believe how fast and how hard they hit the ground. Thinking back on that one, I was just plain silly.

Jacked 'er up with a handy-man jack. Now, those things I do not trust! :>(

Hi George,

It is the wrong front. The wide front is off of a 560 I've been told.

It just drives me nuts looking at it every time I walk by, plus it does not bend a corner right. So, I'm putting this "correct" style on.

Looking at your second picture, I think I see the problem you've been talking about. The front end looks pigeon toed, or hair-lipped, for our northern viewers. No wonder it's been causing you to lose sleep. Harley

It would probably operate better if he took those blocks out so the front tires would touch the ground! 8^)
