Jerky loader

No, I'm not name calling! ;-)
The more weight there is in the bucket, the harder it is to raise the bucket smoothly. In fact, sometimes it's just about impossible to avoid a sudden jerk at the start of the lifting. It's a Wagner loader. I thought there might be an adjustment at the valve handle return spring, but there isn't. Is there a solution short of replacing the control valve unit?
Thanks,

Roger

You might want to make sure you're using a non-foaming type of fluid in your hydraulic system.

Ther is a nonserviced check valve built into the control valve. Had to replace mine 2 or 3 times.

Like the others said, air in the system or low on hydraulic fluid. Make sure that you sufficient oil in the reservoir, and then run the loader up and down several times without lifting anything. If there is air in the system, this should allow it to work its way out.

You may have air getting in to the system by way of a hole in the sucktion line going to the pump. Or it could be a relief valve going bad/weak spring. Or the pump maybe going bad on you, any and all of those could be your problem

Sounds to me like air in the system. The air will compress until there is enough pressure than jolt like a nail gun.
