2004 F 250 6.0. Sometimes I like the tow haul feature but at others I hate it. What do you other owners of these do, use it or not. What could be ,if any problems of not using?

On my 02 GMC, The tow haul feature changes the shift points for higher shifts, and causes the trany to hold back better by down shifting after touching the brake. It really makes a difference, but I don't know if it would be hurt by not using it when towing or hauling heavy. Best of luck,

Neighbor had a stroke, so I've been driving him around. His truck has the tow/haul package installed, and he complains that I'm not using it enough; he thinks I'm gonna wear out his brakes. This is a 2002 Chevy pickup, but it seems to make it use the diesel engine to pull down your speed. Won't coast half as far with it turned on, but it makes the engine RPMs go up in a real hurry. He almost never used his brakes at all, just hit the button and planned ahead for stopping. That way he didn't have to remember if there was a trailer back there or not. I'm sure he irritated a lot of other drivers!

Your mileage may vary but all the tow/haul does on my truck is turn off the overdrive. About the only time I turn it off is when driving with a trailer over hilly ground. Then it keeps the truck from shifting to overdrive on each downhill. Otherwise I just leave it on.

A Chevy will still shift into overdrive at about 65
