I did my part & got some of your heat up here. Now when are going to take some of this RAIN?? We got all the conventional planted by the 5th of May. I have a short 100 acres of organic to go yet.
My corn came up ok but the beans didn"t like the cold wet whether at all. I was going to replant last week and whether guessers called for severe heavy thunder showers. So I waited till Thursday and they said no rain. I spotted in one farm. Started raining Thurs nite. They have been underwater ever since. Everything replanted around here has rotted in the ground.
The only good news is they have it worse both North & South of me. A friend North of me had 12.8 inches last week.
I"m in Central Ohio for those that don"t know

Larry, I live in Pataskala, and the only thing that is growing well are the weeds and the grass. The soybeans were planted the 3rd/4th of May in our fields and they look pathetic.

I'm sure not hogging it on purpose! I wish their was a way to share. One neighbor has replanted twice and still don't have enough of a stand to be worth leaving. My son saw 2 guys drilling with front wheel asst. tonight going in 6 inches in a lot of places.
I'm thinking about cranberries here lol

I wish you could send it on over to the dry places. We had some rain last week and that makes almost 2 inches for the year. Dry hot wind this week and almost 100+ everyday about sucked that back out though. Brother had 4" last week at his place and complaining about the mosquitos but no worries about that here. Thrip and spider mites been bad though in new planted crops. At least you'll have moisture to replant on. No moisture here to get a dryland crop going yet unless you plant it way too deep and then can get it to sprout and in to drag dirt off top after a rain. Sounds silly but we use to plant cotton that way. No one wants to try it that way anymore because of what seed cost.

Hoggin' all the rain and then expect us to feel sorry? I don't think we had 12.8 inches all last year. And total to date this year is less than 3. Think I can grow a crop on that? What are we supposed to do, send a truck?
