OK Gary, just want to know how you made that first cut showing in the second photo without leaving tire tracks in the uncut crop on either side?? Or maybe they just arn't showing up very well but with that heavy a stand you think they would.

I have the deflector set so the windrow is just wide enough to be inside the tire tread.

Thats why I like to run wide frontends on the mower tractor so I don't drive on the hay.

There isn't bird poo on Alan in NE's tractor, that is poo on Gary in IA's tractor, Alan just posted the photo.

Alan rises early, and buffs his machines down with a fine chamois, and applies armour all to the hoses, tires etc, before polishing the chrome work.

Don't quite know how Alan NE gets anything done what with taking pics, running in the house, uploading them and posting them here, but he does. Bet Mrs.Alan wishes he spent that much time with her. :)

Gary, I remember down in southwest Iowa back when they put up hay that it was that thick, but you got me plumb downhearted now. Down here on this rockpile in the Ozarks, I cut and baled for two days and got 14 bales of grass hay. Better than nothing, but got really bored running around with that chainer baler waiting for it to get full enough to wrap a bale. I'm not complaining though. The Lord blessed us with some rain this year. I remember last year not even starting the tractor to cut hay. Yours looks too good to be true. Nice tractor too. Love them old things. Harley
