Well, we got some rain so I got out on my tractor and new to me 7 1/2' disc and made 2 passes over some ground that had been planted in wheat 4 years ago and has just been fallow since.

I then got out my new to me 2 row planter and loaded 1 hopper up with sunflowers and the other hopper up with sorghum and planted it!

Here is a picture of me running the disc:

I'm sure that is probably the worst seedbed anyone has ever taken a picture of but I'm planting it for the birds this fall so when dove season starts hopefully some of it will have made it and they will think they are in bird heaven!

Thought I would share, this is my first attempt at growing anything larger than a small garden and I'm curious how it will turn out. If anyone sees anything obvious that I'm doing wrong let me know. I figured the grass that was left might cut down on yield but hopefully wouldn't completely choke everything I planted out.

Thanks for looking.

Nathan

for doves you want to plant marajuana and have a source of water.

I did put in a water source. Not sure about the marajuana though, do you have a source for where to get the seed?

The doves have already found my water source and it has only been up and running 2 weeks. I had fun using my new tractor to set the rocks around it, some were too heavy to pick up with the loader so I had to drag, push them where I wanted them.

Don't know about the seed, we always thought the doves brought it in?

Now you need a roosting tree. Got any close by or do you have to "build one out of old telephone pole with rebar for branchs? Great pictures and nice watering hole. If you run out of rocks I can send you whatever you need. Bob

Wow that's a pretty sky in the background, and a nice watering hole....I think the doves will think there in heaven with something that nice!
