Haven't seen grasshoppers in over a week. Cricket in the house 2 nights ago though. Lab chased a garter snake down one of the many groundhog holes popping up - thought I got them all, guess not. Noticed yesterday the pond was down a little along the shore - more than I wanna see this time of year.

I remember a step nephew having a science book some years back that said can tell the temperature outside by counting the number of times a cricket chirps in a minute, then adding 15. Tried it a few times, works.

And, today is rememberence day too. Have a good one.

Mark

Thanks for the rememberance. 20 in and 26 out dont regret it but I still have problems, Jane Fonda, spitting and names but thats my problem. I have a few bugs, a few mosquitos, just enough to keep the barn swallows and a couple crows around. Get Orioles and Rubythroated Hummingbirds at the flowers and feeders. And yellow canaries. Have a great weekend and add my thanks to all the past and present military, police, fire dept and more. Bob

I wish you had some of our rain... north central ND, 2, 3, or 4 inches of rain over the last couple of days.

Wet fields, water all over, crop underwater, what a mess!
