The votes are counted and my little likeness of the budding electrician/Farmall mechanic stays. For those of you worried about using up Kim's memory or bandwidth, the picture is hosted on my own server, all her server gets is the html text. If any of you want one of your own all you have to do is have the picture uploaded on the web somewhere, then save the url with the html code in your notepad and then you can copy and paste anytime you want. Thanks guys.

Everyone keeps saying how it reminds them of something they did when they were a kid. This picture reminds me of something I did just a few years ago. Stuck the probe of a 110/220 test light against the screw of an exposed outlet, trying to see if it was live. It was and I should have made sure it wasn"t grounding against the box when I touched the screw. Did a little welding that day.

Even though it didn"t get me, it sure made me jump when the sparks started flying and the smoke and smell of melting metal reached my nose. Of course I laughed.

I have to tell you, I do like the picture, but I could see where someone on dial-up wouldn"t, especially if we all started putting pictures in our posts. Nothing like opening a page with 50 or 60 pictures on it when you are dialing in. Isn"t high speed internet great? Actually, if everyone had avatar"s, especially that large, these forums would not be what they are today.

Steve

The picture also reminded me of a prank we used to pull while in the service on a brand new, out of tech school, wannabe electrical trouble shooting whiz...
We"d take 1/10 amp fuse wire, wrap it around the two prongs of the power cord of an electric drill, (up against the base of the plug) or other power tool, and tell the new guy to get the tool from the tool crib to perform something or other.
Well, sure enough, when he plugged it in, the fuse wire would give off a very brief spark, a puff of smoke, and scare the you know what out of him. Funny at the time, maybe not now. Of course, I was about 20 in those days, and bullet proof.....

When my daughter Sarah was less than 2 years old SHE PUT A SET OF KEYS IN A SOCKET AND IT ROLLED HER ACROSS THE BED She lived through it and the melted keys are still around someplace. That was almost 18 years ago she never pulled that again remember Guys it only takes 1/10 amp across the heart to cause full cardiac arrest no second chance I work with high voltage every day Be Careful, not a statistic....!!! I just got zapped today by a very powerful electric fence by mistake but it wasn't as bad when as a 6 year old I stuck my fingers in an empty light socket which was on!! By the way I like your pic.

Picture don't mean too much to me, but I appreciate your input, so whatever clangs your bell.....more power to you. I really don't know what a 5 or 6 year old would be on this site for anyway, and if any teenager trys to imitate it, there is more than a small problem at home!!

I"m glad you are keeping it. Not that I particularly like or dislike the picture but always, always the safety and pc police want to jump in and that to me is a challenge to see just how offensive I can be. Sometimes I contain myself (since this is still Kim"s house I have managed to on here). Other times not..... . Quoting my dear friend and model druantia, "it never fails, just as soon as someone starts having fun, someone has to jump up an b... about it."

I am feeling a bit of inspiration for a photoshoot though. Maybe come July I"ll have something new on this topic on my web page. Any ideas how to credit the artisitic inspiration?

You can do whatever you want. I was trying to maybe get you to think but I guess that didn't happen did it. But when you read about this happening to a young kid I hope you don't lose any sleep. Bye now.

MR. JIM JOHNSON:

Lighten up!
I stuck a screwdriver in an outlet when I was very young and lived to talk about it (though the screwdriver did not!)
I certainly did not need to see a photo of said action to do it.
PC people make me sick to my stomach.
Dave

It isn't a matter of PC Police,it is COMMON SENSE,like Fshook said you don't need to touch the ground wire if you are the GROUNDING FACTOR.We lost a young man and his wife(who TRIED TO SAVE HIM)some 30 yrs.ago when all he touched was a BADLY insulated wire,(single 120 line)so WHY EVEN PUT THE IDEA IN ANYONES MIND THAT IT MAY BE DONE AND GET AWAY WITH IT.MORE PEOPLE ARE KILLED WITH 110-120 current THAN ARE KILLED WITH HIGH VOLTAGE LINES.SO ANY OF YOU THAT SAY YOU LIVED TO TELL ABOUT IT,THANK GOD FOR IT.Jim Johnson had the NERVE to say it which I didn't a long time ago when this Picture started.USE COMMON SENSE,ONE CHILDS LIFE ISN'T WORTH ALL THE ENJOYMENT,SOME PEOPLE SEEM TO GET OUT OF THIS PICTURE.Now every one can hate me.

Yep, one of my daughters did that when she was about two. Had the protectors on and she removed it. I assure you, she didn't see it on TV or on any website, she thought of it all on her own. Give her a hell of a holler. After that, she stopped her sister (twin) anytime she went near an outlet.

I like it Cowman.
