You know it seems that if you lie about waht you have to sell you can sell it in a heart beat but if you tell the truth you can't sell any thing. So whats up with that I'm I being to honest when I try to sell some thing??
Thanks just getting tired of people that want something for nothing I guess

ditto-- I tell the truth and they all want to lower the price- I only ask what I have in the pieces- and usually less-- for instance I have an old Pippen 4 lever backhoe that is 4 pr hitch after the frame is put on any tractor-- has had little use and works good and because that is what I't used to ( 4 lever) it works good for me-- well I priced the little 7' JD 3pt hoes (junk- tinny) and after the shock 7 to 10 grand I couldn't believe the offers I was getting - one guy wanted the hoe and 350 Int. w/ few hours, that it's on, too-- for 900.00 that's not fair in my book--I would rather split up the unit's

I just sold a old backhoe on feebay. I was honest about what it was. The buyer lied to me about why he wanted it as if it made any difference. All I wanted was the money. Check out 7612411806 than compare it to 7617131932. That old hoe is a lot closer to being a 1942. No way its 3 pt with out welding brackets. The " set up for a thumb" part I don't understand. My friend told me, see if you used your imagination you would make more money ><~ I'm just waiting to see the feedback on that seller.

old,
I recently sold a Cub and a Super A on ebay. Neither brought near what I thought they should have and my expectations were rather low.....example, the Cub was straight and had cultivators. I felt it would bring $1500....it brought $1235..... no I can never find them that cheap when I am looking for them. But, I don't use shill bidders like many do and what it brings, it brings. I took a bath on the Super A!

Anyway, when I advertised these tractors, I added one thing...."this tractor is 50-55 years old and for it's age..it's in good condition." I think that causes most people to realize it is far from new and not to expect it to be perfect.

You're doing right.....never compromise your ethics, the truth will stand when the world is afire.

Honesty is an investment..... in reply to old, 05-17-2006 20:54:35
The more you put in, the more you'll get back.

My dad used to say "if you dont lie, you dont have to remember what you said". Same basic principal applies to honesty I think.

Tell me about it! Had a guy offer a grand for a 350U with a 6ft finsh mower. He wanted the mower for 200.00!
