I need help getting the glass bowl part of the sediment bowl off of my cub cadet 102. Looks to be the factory bowl. This sat for a number of years before I got it and the tank, bowl, carb... basicly the entire fuel system was gummed up. the bowl is has a bunch of gummy fuel and dirt stuck to the bottem of it and I can't get it off. Does the bowl spin off or what? Mike.

Here is what I do. There.... that is the disclamer part. Be careful of your paint with this one but it gets anything with varnish loose. I use MEK from the paint store. That is Methyl Ethyl Keytone. I pour some in and let it set in the bowl like several others have told you to do. It will take off any paint you have in the area so be very careful! I had to romove 15 years of gas out of an old Mall saw with this methhod. Took about three hours but got everything sqweeky clean. Jeffcat

I am not sure if yours spins off or not.. though I think they ALL do. what I did to get mine off was to drain the gas out of the tank, plug the gas line just past the bowl. spray PB BLASTER in the tank till the bowl was full. then on the outside about every half hour for a day spray on some PB till nice and wet.. you DON"T wan"t to mess up the threads or break that bowl! then you got a bigger pain in the butt.. just my .02 worth

The way I have fixed that problem was to empty the tank of all fuel/liquid and then spray carb cleaner in the tankk to the point that the sediment bowl was full and still also had some in the tank. You have to plug/close off the fuel line to keep the cleaner in the bowl
