Picked up a good 4020 a couple of months back with the intentions of reselling to make a few $$ to help with spring input costs. I relisted it a couple of times in the photo ads and I'm 2500-3000 below the price everyone else is asking for similar 4020's. I have not had a single e-mail/phone call on this tractor. Times that hard out there or is the 4020 market way over rated with lots of sellers and NO buyers. Thanks for listing to my blubbering..

Todd

Many operator/owners are looking at the costs over the next 20 years. A new JD 6603 4WD with warrenty really doesn't cost that much more. And it will burn much less fuel over the next 20 years doing the same work or more. Plus the new tractor doesn't have 34+ years of experience/abuse. The little operators who want a 4020 for thier main tractor are dying out.

In SE Nebraska they are going between $6000 and $8000 for a good one with 3 point. Lots of them around, so that affects price.

I agree with the 3 point. I bought a 4010 with a dealer upgrade (Engine rebuild) a few years ago. Same story, the guy just couldn't sell it. I went to look before I knew it had no 3 point. When I was leaving he cut the price down. Then called me at home and cut some more. I felt guilty buying so cheap but it has been a good tractor. Can you add the after market 3 point? List it as able to add on and cost with or without.

Does it have a 3 point hitch? If not, that may be why it is not selling. Most people, including me, need a 3 point. Also most are looking for the later models with side console. Good luck!

The buyers are now going where they can get financing and don't have to pay trucking.

Here in ky people still go nuts for one at an aution. Buddy of mine had one in the paper here, never got a call. He had it priced to low, no one called figureing it was junk. Took it to a consignment sale and got 2000 over asking price. Try up'n the price.
