We are getting some serious rain in mid Michigan right now. Just out of curiousity I just went out and looked at the rain gauge and it is right at 1 1/2 inches. It seems like more than that has fallen. It has been coming down pretty steady since about 6pm today. The weather forecast was for anywhere from 1-3 inches of precip so I guess he was right on so far. Going to be a while before we plant anything now. Fields are all worked up waiting for soybeans. We needed the moisture very bad though. It was getting pretty dusty. Dont have to worry about dust out there tonight! A lot of guys around here have already put in no till and regular till corn. Definetely got watered tonight. I think we have a couple of days of this ahead of us. At least Michigan always keeps you guessing on what will happen next. In this state I would not be suprised to see a couple of inches of snow on the ground when I get up!

West side of the state, Grand Haven got serious winds and drenching rain today. No severe power issues but it"s colder than heck and there"s limbs down all over. This area used to be real prone to outages and Consumer"s went through last year and trimmed out all the limbs to clear the lines and all is well now.

Waves on Lake Michigan were forecast to be 9~11 feet today. I bet they were all of that.

We had 1.40 inches as of 9:00pm tonight... here in Central Michigan. Some areas near Ionia were reporting up to 3 inches. Consumers Power had numerous outages in western Michigan this afternoon, as reported on WOOD radio. If Consumers doesn't do any better in maintaining others than they do around here, they deserve all the bad press they get and then some! We usually plan on an outage 'bout every time there's heavy rain or winds.

We got our power back on this afternoon around 4:00. We was out of power for 21 Hrs. Never did find out what actually happened? I know I"m tired out running back and forth checking on two Generators. Then I see gas in our area jump up again today to $2.959 a gallon for regular.
I"m not sure what we got for rain amounts but there water sitting everwhere. Going to be a few days for the farmers can get back on the fields.
In away we needed the rain but here in Michigan it changes as fast as the gas prices do. Mike

Davpal,
You must have power up your way yet it"s been out here since 7 or 7:30 last night. Consumers Energy not giving any restoration time on this yet.
We got a lot of rain here in southern lower Michigan lastnight also. I"m right down here near the ohio line. Had quite a bit of lighting lastnight with it.

I"m running my generator now since 7:00 this morning. It"s spitting rain here right now hope we won"t get to heavy of a rain don"t really like running a generator in rain. I better go have one more generator to fire up yet this morning at my mom and dads. Ya know you never realize how much you miss electricity till you don"t have it. At todays gas prices it getting to expensive to run a generator anymore.
Well gota go play in the rain some more have a nice day even thow it"s not. LOL
Mike

Yes we have power thank god. I checked the rain guage this morning and it said 2 1/4 inches. It was a good day to sleep in and not worry about outside things to do. I have tri county electric here in mid Michigan. Parents have consumers so somebody usually has power. Tri county seems to be pretty reliable. Feels like it is in the 40's outside and pretty windy and still drizzling. A good day to go to work and be inside. It will be many days before we are in the fields. Thats ok, it seems almost too cold for much to grow anyway.

Yeah, we got about 2 inches here in Livingston, Co. . I have a hilly field coming up with seedling trefoil and medium red on the hill sides hopen that will come up more vigourous than the trefoil. When I get done with coffee and moring chores I will drive over to the field and see if I have any wash outs. I could kick myself now for not putting in some oats with it but I plan on going in with Raptor after the 3rd trifoliate anyways.

That will be good for the Great Lakes water levels, they are all low this year, all below average.

Been cold and wet here for a week. Everything on hold with ground temps down around 40 degrees.

Typical springtime.

Well don't be to suprised if you live in the Western part of the Upper Peninsula. I see that they are under a winter storm watch. Gotta love to hate the weather nowadays.
