dont get rid of it all cause the fish will die because the moss gives off the oxygen but if you find something tell me i might try it to

I agree ith Mr. 730 here. Stuff barley straw in a wire mesh cage and submerge it. My dad uses it at work at a state park pond, and it works well.

Aquashade and Princep. Get it at you local Ag Chemical Dealer. Keeps the pond a nice blue color and keeps the moss and algea out of it.

Grass Eating Carp is what is used around here.

They live forever and don't repopulate in a pond.

They use about 6 per acre here.

And yes they do work real well.

Neighbor had them in his pond since built in '85
and last year had grass and scum and I asked what happened and he said the carp had finally died.

He replaced them this year.

Gary

I'm not real happy with grass carp. They only digest around 30% of what they eat and the remainder spews forth in the water, giving it a green tinge. Also they eat the underwater desirable plants first, and the moss last. If you do overpopulate grass carp they will eventually eat everything, but that causes other problems. You likely will have to treat the "green" water with copper sulfate.
