So a question about hydraulics. I have a pump that has an out and return hose for the fluid. But I have cylinders for a loader that a gravity down, by that I mean single acting, one hook up for a hose at the bottom of the cylinder. Will a joystick solve my problem? I don"t want to go buy new cylinders if I don"t have to, so I"m going to go out and find a joy tick and hopefully solve my problems.

Do the lift rams have a port for a 2nd hose? If so connect for down pressure. The other advantage is that the hydraulic oil level in the reservoir will not be swinging between way full to almost empty.

Paul, I noticed your loking for used valves, let me say this your better off buy them new. Surplus center, nother etc have them and the cost isn't all that bad and then you know you have a good set. Most valve you can find where taken off because they started to leak and most can not be repaired.

You need a one-way valve for the lift cylinders. If the bucket is hydraulic, you need a two-way valve for that circuit.

Well not matter what you need a valve body of some sort to use the hyds. Theres basically 2 type of valves. One is for single acting cylinders and one is for double acting cylinders, but the double type can be made to work single acting cylinders. Either way you HAVE TO Have a valve in the system or you can't control the loader.
