Because those are the colors, for the most part, with varying amounts of red thrown in, that the Waterloo Gasoline Engine Co. painted the Waterloo Boy when it was aquired by John Deere.

Minus the red, the colors have remained almost the same ever since.

I know I have heard that some time, or read it but just dont remember. May have better luck on the JD board. You have to remember that some of those boys dont get out to often so their jokes are a little stale.

the reason those tractors are green and yellow as I was told is so they can hide in a corn field while the farmalls are doing the work.

Those colors aren't paint... they are forms of fungus, which can be cured with a little bleach, and a stop at your local JI Case dealer... :)

Sorry guys... couldn't resist...

Where are you going to find one of those these days?

Well, I could go 10 miles to east Green bay, or I could go 12 miles to Seymour, or I could go 15 miles to Kaukauana, or I could go 30 miles to Dale. There are more I could list. Glenn

Problem with Greenbay, Seymour and, Dale is you have to stick a thick steel pan in the backside of your pants when you walk in there.
