loader materials

i am designing a loader for my power king 2418 and i was wondering what should it be made out of i had a few thoughts and wanted input the first is alumin for the arms and have steal bushings at every piviot point this would be light weight which would save on my front end but would it have strenghth enough to lift my goal of 500lbs or greater? then theres steal which makes the most sence just wondering what size i should use as far a the lift arms i was thinking 4" square tubing ir see if i could find 2x6" box tubing or does any one have any ideas as a material and size of it thanks chris

You should go to a couple tractor dealers and look the frames over on loaders they have. That way you sort of get a picture of the size stuff they use. Loaders always need to be made heavy because they do get worked hard and a 3000lbs machine will really smack the heck out of things. I have loaders made with 2 or 3 inch pipe that is 1/4 inch walls on the pipe, I anlso have a box frame loader the has 3/8 thick steel in that frame and I have one that is made from 3/4X3 or 4 inch solid steel. Thats the ones on my little tractors the big tractor well it BIG all the way around
