Looking for more sources of ag equipment air conditioning parts. Northern has dropped most of that stuff and have a Red Dot dealer here but who else is there for aftermarket AC parts at wholesale prices? Thanks.

Glen,
Have you tried the NAPA Auto Parts Store? They used to either carry or could get (very quickly) just about any and all Ag Air Conditioner parts that are needed. Just my opinion, don't work for NAPA in any way, just used to have good luck with them as a parts supplier.

Yes Jim thanks. I tried NAPA and the old R&D at Clovis today but when I called and mentioned that it was on a Steiger tractor and even gave them industry standard AC compressor and drier numbers and they didn't know what I was looking for. Then said they didn't stock it and had me worried they were going to order the wrong thing too and couldn't tell me a price till it got here? Just a Sanden AC compressor for ag use and drier and expansion valve and not complicated? I'm just looking for more sources. Someone posted a truck parts place on here a while back for AC parts but I can't find it now. Called the Thermo King dealer in Amarillo and they knew exactly what I wanted and were better on the prices anyway. Still bone dry here and most got their dryland wheat disastered out and plowing it up. So how are things over yonder anyway? Take care over there. Glen

Glen,

Just where in the Panhandle are you? I was in Clovis (Cannon AFB) until last September when I left for Kunsan. My lady still lives there, and most likely when I get out I'll be either living in Clovis or if I find a place in the Panhandle somewhere. I'll be leaving here in Sept. headed for Dyess in Abilene then I'll be done. Next time you go to Clovis or if you have a phone book give the boys at Wholesale Auto Parts on Mitchell street a try. They used to always hook me up, but then I wasn't shopping for tractor parts either.

Take care,
Jim

Jim, I'm over between Clovis and Friona. Have had AC hoses made at Wholesale before and they did good on that. Just trying to find some better prices and have to shop around because of this drought.

What's property selling for in that area? Good luck finding the parts. I'll be on leave in September / October between here and Abilene. Because of the number of days I have on the books and my month for taking mid-tour, she and I decided to keep the time for between bases instead. Look me up and maybe we can drink a beer or two.

Hey Jim, I posted this over on JD board too and those guys got me some good links for AC parts and I'm set now. >Link

Any>Link property with good water on it now and close to town brings more. All the dairies coming in have drove the price higher and I say let them buy it and go broke. They don't know what they are doing and will pump the rest of our water out at the rate they are going. The rest of us may be moving out too and letting them have it? I don't think they are helping our economy or if they are why wouldn't the schools have more tax $$$ ?? Clovis laid off 30 teachers yesterday I heard. :(
