Built three point hitch last year for 39H.Used twin 2 1/2 inch cylinders on it.Nice hitch works good but lifts too fast to grade dirt or gravel with. Can I use a flow reducer of some sort without hurting the lift all pump? And does TSC sell a flow reducer..... Thanks River Bottom Farmer

You can use a reducing orifice. They can be made like a washer with a small hole or there are fittings, usually in the swivel type that will slow the fluid down. Either one will work. TSC has the swivel type fitting with the built in reducer.

Swap in larger cylinders. Thus will slow the lift speed without making the hydraulic system bypass.

River Bottom Farmer, I am considering making a 3pth for a Case 440 I have that was purchased with no hitch. Does your system have draft sensing? If it does what did you use to accomplish that?

A green H or a red one? On a green H there is a flow control adjusting valve on bottom of hydraulic pump box to adjust flow. I don't know on a red one but would think you could use a flow control valve of some sort as long as you don't close it off all the way. Can also get flow restrictors for cylinders.

Glen Its a 39 Farmall H I know you can get flow restrictors/reducers and flow control valves but I have heard how finicky the lift all pumps are about being deadheaded agains the relief valve just onder if resticting the flow would cause similar problems

I reread your post and you said it lifts too fast. So if too fast with new style cylinders too it must have more pressure and flow than I was thinking it would have but wonder how much flow? Maybe a variable flow valve with a built in or adjustable relief valve? Lots of hydraulic stuff online at surpluscenter.com
