I see way much talk about somebody finding some rusty hulk and wanting to rescue it. I find so much realy neat suff that is not all rusty. Maybe I should organize "iron hunting" trips. I could put you up for a few days and we could tour the hedgerows and byways. Any takers?

You can probably get something going there cowman.
Especially the urbanites who want a tractor to sit in there garage so the neighbors think they are farmers.
That knife and plug made me remember when I stuck a pencil magnet up to and outlet in dads shop, probably about the size of the boy in the pic. Thats a bad bad thing to do!! Guess thats what made me start doing electrical work HA

I guess I"ll let out the family secret. My late Father-in-law, a real friendly guy could find anything, anywhere.
We would be out on a lesurely drive, and see someone along the road, He"d stop and ask them where (He"d make up a name) lived around there. The local would think a while, maybe ask someone else where the person lived, finally say that they didn"t know of anyone by that name. My FIL would reply, Well they said (name) lived around here and he had a lot of (old cars, old tractors, old trucks, whatever,) The local would reply, I don"t know (name), but there is a guy who has lots of (items) and he lives.... and proceeds to give precise directions to the place!
And one stop may lead to another!

Hey Cowman, you won't find any iron in that spot, I already looked. the only iron I found using that method was in my mouth left by the dentist.

Just like the "Antique Hunting Trips" to England that used to be popular a few years ago. You may have came across a new enterprise for rural America.
Be sure to include a overnighter to Allan's country estates.

Cowman: You're right, there's a LOT of iron still out there. I think most of us are just limited in storage space. By the way, how long AFTER that photo did your parents have to do CPR? (I did the same thing as a kid, but with a key).

No, but it didn't take me too long to figure out that only one side is "hot" and unless you are touching something grounded you won't feel that neither.

Do you have a lodge with fireplace and bar.

Is there meals included.

Are your guides experienced.

I don't want to walk all day and never see any iron.

Your going to have to plant some iron out there for this to work.

Gary

I can set you up at the Indian history center and they have a nice lodge, also overnite cabins. Whaterver you desire to make a pleasant stay.

Howard, wasn't there something like that down in Texas awhile back, but it was on a dude ranch and one of the participants got shot by a shotgun by one of the other participants. No wait, that was quail hunting, not iron hunting. Sorry, my mistake. Harley
