Yesterday, gasoline price went up ten cents a gallon. Today--only seven cents per gallon. Thats the good news.

What does your mother and the price of gasoline have to with each other?

There's more good news, Gomer! That .07 raise is only a 2% increase. Two years ago, that same .07 would have been a 4% increase! LOL

No matter what % gas went up it SUX 100% and I really feel bad for a lot of people that are on fixed income ect. Think about this one ! In the last 30 years gas prices have gone up over 800%

Ok maybe you can help me with math. Now I know this is 2006, and when I subtract 30 from that I get 1976. After doing a little looking around I see that gas was .59 that year. Now I do not know much about numbers but I do know that 100% of .59 =.59. Now If I multiply 100% by one hundred I get 800%. So if gas was .59 in 1976 and it has gone up 800% shouldn't it be .59 times 8 to get the current price for today? My calculator tells me that equals 4.72 a gallon. Will you please tell how you came to the conclusion that gasoline has gone up 800% in the last thirty years.

Sid, my mistake, sorry, I should have said 30 plus years or a little over 30 years or something like that so that it didn't confuse you or cause you any problems with your math. The 1973 time frame is what I was talking about and from that point in time till now gas has gone up over 800%.

Sid, you forgot to add the original .59. Todays cost would be $5.31.
