I need to replace a brake line on a old Clark forklift. Thought it would be an easy fix, but can"t find any 1/8" brake line. I see some line on Ebay that would work, but can"t find a double flare tool that small. Any brake double flare kits I see don"t go below 3/16. Heard an oil pressure line off of a Ford tractor might work if the fittings are the same, but it is 49 inches long. I need a foot.

I wouldn't think it hard to find an adapter to go up to a larger size line. Then just use 3/16" or 1/4" line, no problem. The line size itself will not make any difference, performance wise. HTH.

Did you check with your auto parts store to see if they sell an adapter to fit stock brake line to your 1/8" fittings? Even if you have to special order it, it will be a lot simpler than buying brake line off of eBay and locating a special flaring tool.

Isn't 1/8" that stuff that comes in premade sections at the auto parts store?

Or should I have said "used to be" at an auto parts store?

Found some 1/8 flaring tools on the Grainger site.
Expensive buggers.
Mite also try the McMaster Carr site.
