I'm going to remove the front loader off my 9N the hyd. pump is on the crank. I want to run a log spliter, can I keep the pump and put on quick disconects to run the spliter, or should i run a spliter off the pto. Thanks. Kevin

I ran a splitter on a 9n that way. Front mounted pump and a tank made from a big piece of pipe and an open center control valve. The valve needs to be on the tractor side of the disconnects so you can run the tractor with out the wood splitter. If the pump can't circulate oil it will stop the engine. I ran a rod from the valve handle (mounted by the seat) through an eyebolt mounted on the back of the fender back to where it was convinient to use by the splitter. I just bent a right angle on the end of the rod for grabbing.
Splitting wood was about the only thing that tractor did well.

It depends on how your loader is configured. Most have all the hydraulic plumbing attached to the loader, you would have to disconnect that and frequently the loader frame serves as the reservoir for the hydraulic system. Other than solving those problems, yes you could use the stinger pump for your splitter. I would also put a bumper on the front to protect the pump when the loader is not on.

Thanks, the frame does serve as the reservoir, so i would have to have a spliter with its own levers a reservoir?. Thanks again

You would need to put some sort of tank on it so the pump would never run dry or it will burn up a $300-500 pump. Hyd pumps always need fluid running in them or you will burn one out.
