I have one and absolutely love it, use it every day to move round bales. Forget those old IH's they can't hold nothing to that vintage of Massey - Perkins 354 diesel is probably one of the best tractor engines ever made, jump on it, but see if you can get it for $8000.,

1105 are great tractors [USE MASSEY] oils in the rear end NOT JD OR IH or some fit all junk and let only a good massey dealer do any thing on the hyd.if you should need any type of repair and try not to mix oils from one tractor to another like in rams other then that they are bullet proof

"fit all junk'

You are a funny guy.

I'll bet you'd be hard pressed to find a UTF on the shelf in this day and age that was not a decent oil.

There is an old farmer near me that is infamous for poor maintenance and having help that is hard on equipment and he has several 1100s, 1105s and 1130s still running he also has several setting on back of lot junked out though.

That seems a bit steep in price for a Massey but then again people are starting to realize that a Massey is just as good as any other color tractor. The only Masseys that I ever heard of having hydraulic problems are the ones that a JD mechanic tried to repair. It's a nice tractor, If you don't buy it and I had the money I'd find it and buy it my self. I do wonder why the frame rail was added. Most Masseys don't have frame rails. Those tractors don't need any extra iron, it out weighs any other tractor in it's class.

Nice looking tractor. That Perkins is beautiful, the class of Diesels that size.

I've had two of these tractors. One I bought when it was a couple of years old and was always very good. The other I bought when it looked pretty tired, cheap with a good FEL. Put rings in it and had a good MF mechanic do the hydraulics, because they were very weak. All he did was replace O rings throughout the pumps and valves. Total repairs including labor was $2500 plus $6500 for the tractor and loader. A good $9000.00 loader tractor. But make sure to have a MF guy do the hydraulics, they are different to a JD or IH guy. Good looking tractor...Darald

The two 1105 Masseys I have known both turned into money pits. Transmission problems. Not sure it was not due to maintenance issues. One was pa-in-laws and the other was brother-in-laws. Neither one did much maintenance and both tractors were bought with quite a few hours on them. They were not bad looking or operating tractors when they got them but both had problems after about a year. That LOOKS like a nice machine. I recommend having a Massey dealer look it over BEFORE you sign anything.

Dave,

The only bad thing I have ever heard about a Massey is that they are just a touch light in the front end, so if you are gonna have it under a loader, just take it a little easy.

They are just a tad rough around the edges, but the darned things are tough and they last forever.

Good luck,

Allan

Lots of my neighbors run MF's and they all work on them too. I chuckle to myself when I finally see green tractors replacing the red ones. I asked one neighbor why that was and he told me he learned MF didn't stand for Massey-Fergueson. Go figure.
