A co-worker and I are wondering if there is someone in the US that buys deer horns?? We collect them this time of year. Any leads or help would be appreciated. They are mostly White Tail but also have a few Mule deer.

Thanks guys,
Todd

A guy I know is semi-retired and goes to lots of garage and estate sales. He mostly buys and later resells tools, but has found that any deer, elk or moose horns he comes across are a real good money maker for him. I think he sells the horns to Pacific Hide and Fur in Spokane, and he said they go to the Orient to be used in Chinese medicines.

He has made a fair living for the last 20 years buying and selling stuff. He seems to be able to buy low and sell high, which is the opposite of what I usually do. I have bought a bunch of tools from him over the years and always have thought I got a decent deal. Good luck with your horns.

fur buyers in the US usually buy antlers also. Pay for'em by the pound. Check the 'wanted to buy' columns in a border city newspaper

you might try selling them on ebay as some people like to use them for knife handles. Heard about a boy scout troop that collected elk antlers and sold them at auction to support their troop and to feed the elk in the winter, they always sold out.

I think Cabela's and Bass Pro Shops might buy them for displays. I think they might only buy matching sets, or only complete mounts...don't really know. Good luck!

Dandy idea to pick them up when you see them, they will go right through a tractor tire and let all the air and fluid run out. Been there, done that.

Right you are. They also hide in snow and sneak into pickup tire sidewalls when you´re coyote hunting. Expensive way to find antlers!

I just have to do this and give you a hard time and may get you in the know. Deer don't have horns. They have antlers that drop off every year and regrow the next year. Horns never drop off.
