Detwiler's in Wi. will re-rim both front and rear rims. $149.00 a piece for fronts and $475.00 for the rears. Spokes are $20.00 apiece extra if you need them. Ph.# 715-659-4252 or www.detwilertractor.com

I have a jig than is factory made to make cut offs. I kind of was the sly fox at a auction where no one had any idea what it was. You are welcome to use it if you are anywhere near NE IA. The old timers always said when you weld them, you weld all the spokes but the last one, then smoke a cigar before welding the last one to avoid cracking the welds. Many cut offs are crude at best because thy did not use these jigs. Dave NE IA

Thanks Dave I'll remember that I need to respoke a rim rather than weld one though. Many times I could have used that jig though.

Sorry, I just reread your post and I think I got it after the third try here. Perhaps a little more sleep and a lot less computer would make me a little smarter. Dave NE IA

Sure don't want myself to apear dumb, but I think terms may differ, but If you want to weld a new rim to your old hub this jig is just the ticket. Basicly a cone to drop your hub on and will self center itself. Three bolts with collars are adjusted (in a 4 ft. slot each) under your old rim. This keeps your rim at the same distance when you install the new rim. Another small adjustable rod with a washer (washer holds cutting torch tip for a perfect circle). Thus you cut the old rim off (this can be shorter if you put smaller rims on). Then drop new rim on and weld away. Almost impossible to screw anything up. It will fit in the trunk of a full sized car if you could duck tape / bale wire / or tarp strap the lid down. Dave NE IA

Steel or rubber?
Steel - probably easier/cheaper to find another wheel or even a pair.

i have seen a place advertised in green magazine who puts new rims on round spokes. arent cheap, but they do it. if you mean steel, it is also very expensive. you will have to drill the holes in the new steel wheel, and then hot rivet them back together. not hard, just real time consuming. pg
