If the neighbors would've gone by yesterday they would've thought Gary has lost his mine.

3 tractors with heaters and air conditioned cabs and Gary is out there harrowing the oats with the cabless 560.

I don't do field tillage often with the 560 but enjoy it when I do.

I do use the 560 for mowing hay and the MTA or 300 for raking all the time so the neighbors are used to that.

Did take some pictures of plowing other day but don't want to show them till Allan gets done.
And I need time to figure out how to post them.

Just having fun.

I enjoy using the older stuff as much as possible... Dad would rather have the cab and AC/heat - he already used enough old stuff for one lifetime.

Building up slowly is the key. Dad is up to 1700 acres of seeded ground and about 125 head of cattle, after 30 some years in the business. Newest piece of equipment would be the loader on our 2590 Case, next newest would be that tractor. Most of the equipment is from the 70's... I use the stuff from the 40's, 50's and 60's when I'm home. :o)

What part of the state are you in? Down here in the southeastern part of the state that the guys without MFD tractors are having a hard time getting hay out to their cows. We are supposed to have storms again on Thursday with heavy rain and then rain again by next Tuesday or Wednesday. We've still got alot of spraying and some waterway work to do before we start planting but at this rate it might have to all get done at the same time.

It was a pretty darn nice day yesterday. Too nice to be couped up in an office, that's all I know.

Thanks, Gary for all your help on Sunday. For all of you who didn't know this, Gary helped a local volunteer fire department on Sunday with a pancake breakfast. Provided cooker and cooked sausage for about 1,000 people. Thanks again!

You darned right!

That is the prettest sight on the face of this earth, seeing those old buggers still out working like they used to years ago.

I sent email Allan

I don't plow with old iron but still enjoy useing it when I can.

I farm for a living and have newer equipment to do the main work.

If I post those pictures I may get kicked off of this forum.

Allan asked the other day how do the big boys afford to do this. Well I've been at it 32 years and have slowly growen to farm 1200 acres by myself and have been slow to buy equipment.

I dont know if you guys know where I'm coming from but i don't want any upset people with me thinking I shouldn't be on this forum.

Just rambling. Gary
