Anyone have an idea how to tell an "L" from a "LI". I know the serial number if that will help.

LI is the industrial version of the L and is lower to the ground, look at the front steering arms, if they are below the top of tire a LI, if above top of tire an L

Look on the edge of the transmission flange between your legs when you are sitting on the tractor. there will be the letters LI stamped there.

LI (Styled) tractors will have a serial number in the range beginning with 50001 and ending with 52019. Now there is an exception here. Prior to mid 1941 LI tractor serial numbers were intermingled with the L's falling anywhere between 625000 to 634840. Sometimes you may find the LI with spacers on the rear wheels and a foot throttle.

Heck, no, he wouldn't! It's more fun to play guessing games!

How about all the posts on here where someone has found a rare tractor, and asks for info, and folks say "post back when you figure out what it is". Seems like they NEVER post back!
