Well Heck,

That turned out to be a simple little deal after we got the toys dug out of the snowbanks.

First, loaded the hay basket and dropped the loader inside it; then just placed the other two heads inside the loader where the tractor normally sets.

Wham, bam, we're done and I had 7 foot of trailer left over.

Okay, lookin' fer a cheap, old tractor to strap 'er on to now. That is, if the little H can get this trailer unloaded. :>)

Hey Allan.
Looks like a neat find. I`ve never dealt with the farmhand loaders. Are they tough to mount and dismount on the tractor. From the pics it looks like you`d almost have to have a second one to lift it up and over. Or is there a trick I`m not seeing. Forgive my ignorance Brokenwrench

Hey Guy!

Where the heck ya been?

Nope, you hit the nail square on the head. They are a killer to mount, no doubt about it. To top it off, I'll have to build the undercarriage frame when I find something to tie 'er to.

We loaded this toy with a huge articulating New Holland 4X4. And, I'm gonna try to pull 'er off of there with a little H?

Oh Brother! Think I'm slippin' over the edge on this one. :>)

Oh,

Didn't understand your question, I guess.

When I was a wee lad, we used to hang the front end up on a couple of tall poles with a cross beam. Backed under and into the thing. Had to put it on, take it off at every cuttin' of hay.

Later on, figured out that if ya just have the front end down on the ground and the rear up on some blocks, you can just back the tractor over that front cross beam and still get the mounting irons in and under the rear frame. Gotta keep the struts wired up and out of the way tho.

Nice part is that the whole complete gizmo is only held on by 4 bolts; two at the front struts to the siderails and two at the rear mounting irons to that large U-iron at the bottom of the loader's frame.

Ya, I can see where that would work pretty slick.
They just look like such a goofy contraption.
So if they were used alot for stacking hay, do they self level? I know it`s been awhile since I posted much. We`ve been really busy here at work the last few months, and since this is where my "high speed" is, I don`t go on much at home. I usually jump on at least once a day to get my tractor talk fix and read a few posts.
Have a great weekend Brokenwrench

What was that piece of yellow sitting in the fence row? Looked like a cage/canopy for a dozer?

Is it for sale? What is it?

Hi Rog,

The cage is an old hay-cage fer one man's stackin' hay. The yellow gizmo you're looking at is the front end of a dullie gooseneck flatbed trailer.

Yep, he's selling all of that stuff or cuttin' it up for scrap next month.

Yeah,

That's what he said. "Find something else so's ya don't waste a trip".

Only other thing he had that I needed was a 6-ton manure spreader, but I just didn't want to part with that kind of cash today. :>(

Yes, I think the old sister is gonna work just fine. Someday, I'll find an old 656 or 560 to put it on. Until then, it can just set here where the iron man's torch isn't welcome.

If you need a F10 or F10D parts machine there are lots of the them in my neck of the woods. Most ranchs still have one mounted and from one to four in the iron pile for spares. Its just been in the last 15 years that most of the area moved away from loose hay.

You must be over there on the other side of the ridge around Delta?
