Need some help on an old pond. Seveal years ago (10??) several guys were out in the pond on a canoe & they bumped into the metal drain pipe & broke it off somewhere under the water. We rushed to the hardware store & bought a piece of rubber & some hose clamps to cap the discharge end. It has always leaked a little, but has gotten worse recently (steady drip). Is there anything I can do to stop this problem. I have considered concrete over the discharge but I don't think that it would cure due to the constant drip.
Thanks,
MH

What are you going to do when you get a big rain, wash the dam out at the emergency spill way because you blocked the spill way pipe that keeps the pond at a certain level. You probably need to fix the intake pipe some how.

I take it you can't pick that up at your friendly neighborhood home improvement center. I do have a buddy that works for a commercial concrete products supplier, I will ask him about it. Thanks.

Yes, hydraulic cement is available at almost any home improvement type store. It comes in a plastic bucket, and it ain"t cheap. Don"t mix it all at once, because it will harden in about 2 minutes after mixing. Work fast and accurate.

I've bought small buckets of it at hardware stores, and lowes / hd.... It's one of the easier ways to patch a crack in a swimming pool .. etc... Not sure why you would -not- be able to get it locally.. etc..
