This is a photo of my folks with a toro tractor.
I had it for years and was telling my wife that I need to get it in the shop for restoration, that very day my dad called and asked me if I still had it. I asked why and he said that they went to a tractor show and saw one.... I interupted and told him I would have it on the trailer by the end of the day.
He picked it up the following saturday and spent the winter (2003) restoring it.
Well, this is what it looks like today.
The picture was taken at the Michigan flywheelers tractor show in 2004.
My folks are having a ball with it, I'm sure glad I didn't get to it before he called.
It gives him some value in his retired life.

Am currently working on a 1947 Toro General. Looked a long time to find a complete one. It is a series 2 model B. Has a Ford 9N engine and four speed transmission. Has a Clark one ton rear end and a three to one gear down. Sixteen inch tires front and rear.

IHnut, Been there many times & seen that once I believe. Your Dad did a great job. Looks like he and your Mom are proudly "stylin' and profilin," and well they should. David H. in S.E. (north of Dexter) Mich.

That thing looks some like the golf course tractors we used at the belle meade country club near nashville. They were used to pull mowers for the fairways and roughts. Being about 18 yr old (about 1960) then i tried to see how fast they would go. never could get one wide open, too fast, would just start bouncing and i would have to let up. Sure were a neat little trator for its purpose.

They were built mainly for the gulf course, most were set up with gang mowers on them. The dump box on this one is kinda rare and the spoked rims are very rare.

Someone gave one to my dad to scrap out. I talked him out of it. I got it running, and tore up all the hills around our farm. It made a great dune buggy, just a little rough riding. While I was in the Navy Dad finally cut it up, along with our Burma Jeep, and a lot of his farming equipment, but not the tractors. Still have them. Stan

I was at that show. I think I have seen that Toro at other shows. I see other similar Golf course tractor in Mi. There were a couple at West Branch last year.

I'm thinking I've seen a picture of one before somewhere, maybe here. Don't they have a road gear of like 40MPH? Seriously.

Sure is an attention getter. Your parents look as though were having a great time, and that's the best part of the whole picture. Evidence of fond memories are hard to beat.
