I have an 3020 60's john deere tractor propane. It started last season but now it will not start. We parked it sometime in september it ran great and now it wont start. If we pull it it will start and run good. Then it will start once and that is it. Then we have to pull it again. Does anybody have any idea why it wont start on its own.

I fought a 4020 propane for a long time, ended up to be the coil. This tractor would start cold any day but once started, forget starting it unless you could pull it. Once running it would run all day like a top. chris

Check the valve adjustment. They are probably too tight.

Had a similiar experience with a MM ZAN LP. Got to the point where it didn't crank evenly. Backed the valve adjustment off to spec and started up and ran like a champ.

One other idea. If memory serves me that tractor should be using a Century setup. Is your primer solinoid working? At least I was thinking Deere finally went back to that setup.
