Nathan,

I think all these folks will disagree with me, but I think that little tractor you picked out is a ruby in the rough.

Fact is, I've been fightin' the urge all day long to tell you to go pick 'er up, stop by on your way back to Texas and I'd trade ya a cleaned up Hydro70 gasser for it.

Sure it's a little rough , but I really like the looks of your tractor.

Ya ought to see the junk I buy. :>(

Allan

Hey Allan: There's a 756 gasser sitting in the snow in Milnor, ND just waiting for you to pick her up. Asking $2950.

Thanks for the input Allen.

I really am hoping that it will check out okay. I already have a good quote on shipping and the dealer quoted me a really good cash price also.

I've been in touch with a guy who is going to go over there tomorrow and chat with them for me.

If that goes well I will get someone to do an inspection on it and maybe in a couple weeks I'll have a tractor!

I don't want to rush into it blindly though. I've read up on 656's and the only drawbacks seem to be the shifter and the 282 isn't all that highly regarded by some with the hard starting in the cold (that shouldn't matter much to me in Texas).

I've about decided that if I don't end up with something soon I'll just break down and buy a brand new Kubota.

Thanks for the input.

Look on ebay, I found a 656 down by our southern neighbors (fibs) today, can't remember if it had a loader or not. I think it did.

Maybe I'm rushing things. There is a 756 with a Internation 2000 loader for $2,400 more about 5 miles from the 656. Tires look better, looks like it was taken better care of, 756 are supposed to be an awesome tractor, really the only drawback is the loader is not quick attach and I have no idea if they will move much off that price. They quoted me $4,200 on the 656D with QA loader at the other place.

Don't know where you are Nathan but I saw some nice loader tractors at auction in E NM last weekend but not many red ones like you seem to be looking for. You might find and check with David at the auction yard in Howe TX and I think they have ads in fastline? Also the big auction in Idabell OK might have something? Good luck.

Sometimes when a tractor is used in the woods a wheel will be turned around to give more pull in reverse. I think it is better to turn the tractor around and use the three point to lift the leading edge of the log.
